If your insurance approves you and then you need to change surgeons,what happens?

Quite often, the surgeon and facility can be changed without a problem. I
do the pre-approval process for weight loss surgery for a living and have
rarley had any problems.

The new doctor should just call the insurance company and let them know
that he will now be performing the surgery instead of the old doctor. Make
sure that when he bills for the procedure, he uses the same procedure code
as the first doctor since that procedure was the one approved.

I changed surgons 2 weeks before my surgery date and my insurance company
didn't give me any problems and I have Cigna HMO!
