Question:
Has anyone used Oxford Insurance for thier WLS?

Has anyone used Oxford Ins for thier WLS, especially the Freedom Plan or in the state of NJ? Have you had any problems getting the surgery approved?    — Victoria P. (posted on February 27, 2002)

I had no problems getting approved by Oxford Freedom plan. They however, do require, a psych consultation and nutrionist evaluation. I was lucky and was able to for go the two since I had other serious issues. It took a week to get the approval but I've heard it can take longer.

I had Oxford Freedom Plan out of NJ and they were wonderful. I was approved in 10 days. I had to have a phych eval and I also had to see a nutritionist. They paid for everything. Good luck.

Also, check the insurers part of this site. Go to NJ, NY, PA, and CT (the states that have Oxford Health Insurance) and see what others with this insurance have said about it. You really shouldn't have a problem with this insurance.
