Question:
my ins. co. authorized a surgical consult does that me i got a shot at approval???

called carrier (ins.) today to see if they received approval request they said no and that the last authorization was 1/15/02 for surgical consult    — Dia C. (posted on March 16, 2002)

Im not sure if this helps, since mine was a doctor that was consultated, not a surgeon, but it didnt help me, I was still denied. That really means nothing for you though, since every plan, and every doctor is different. I wasnt heavy enough,(230 lbs.)yes, its 40 bmi, but not really life threatning, and I was not sick with diabetes and high blood pressure. good luck.

Yes - my consult appointment was almost, almost a guarantee of surgery. Good luck
