Hi! I live in Hudson, FL (about 45 N. of Tampa) I have BC/BS Health Options, was approved and had my surgery 2/19/03. One thing I can tell you is that they usually deny everyone the first time and require 12 months of supervised diet information. I was denied the first time for lack of that. I was only able to gather 8 months worth, but submitted it along with TONS of appeal letters from myself, family and friends. One hour before my Teleconference appeal was due to be heard, I received a call telling me I was approved!!! If you have any other questions, feel free to email me. Good Luck!!

I live in Jacksonville and have BCBS Health Options. I was approved after they requested additional information about the 12 month supervised diet. I know alot of people that have BCBSFL HMO and get approved.

I have Health Options also, I was approved in two days. I just made sure that I had everything they wanted, and I included a letter not to long telling them how it is living life as an obese person. They also approved a physician that was three and half hours from me, so I think they are great. But just a word of caution for you. Most surgeons are starting to not accept Health Options anymore. They feel that they are not paying well enough. So make some calls even my physician is "on the fence" as he calls it. He promises me that I will have my surgery which is the 7th of April.. So make sure you call the surgeon and make sure they are going to be still accepting. Good Luck... Krysti
