how long ?

My insurance was just sent in monday , Ihave cigna ppo, How long does it take on general to geet approved , anyone have cigna ppo , and get approved ? any problems with them , please let me know. waiting inpatietly in Michigan, Michelle (paw paw)    — michelle P. (posted on January 18, 2000)

Michelle, I have Cigna Healthcare of N. Tx.It is an HMO, but they told me descions on getting approved should take 48-72 hrs. You can always call cigna and ask. They also have a webpage www.cigna.com/healthcare

Michelle, I have CIGNA PPO, and I got approved about three weeks after the request was received. Now the RECEIVED part is important. Insurance companies tend to lose paperwork left and right. So, in a few days, call them and ask if they got the pre-approval request from your surgeon. Make sure they get it, and have it on their computer system, then you can start waiting for a response. It's too dissapointing to wait two or three weeks for a response, then when you finally call to check on your status, they tell you they never received the request! Good Luck!
