Question:
Work is changing insuance companies. Can I continue coverage?

My husband's insurance approved me but the company went out of business. (No COBRA).. I switched to my company's insurance and was approved but they are now switching carrier's. I am afraid that I will not be able to switch the surgery date (Aug 1) in time for the planned change. Need to know if I can continue with the present plan since I am approved.    — Diane S. This is probably not what you want to hear but typically the answer is not.. you can't stay on w/ the previous insurance. What effective date is the insurance changing? If you can't move your surgery date up to be w/ current insurance then you'll probably have to go through the entire process again and get the auth w/ the new company. I wish you luck.
