Question:
How long until I can submit for insurance approval again?

I was denied by BC/BS for having to low a bmi. I have a bmi of 38. It was not a complete surprise, but I thought I would try anyway. I have already gained about 7 more lbs. since I was weighed at my nursing consultation on July 2nd and I have a feeling if I keep going this way, then by December, I will probably be up to the required bmi ( I am not trying). I just wanted to know if there is a time limit. Do I have to wait a certain amount of months or do I automatically have to appeal? If someone has had experience with this and BC/BS I would appreciate some assistance. Thank You.    — Tara J. (posted on September 23, 2001)

I don't have BC/BS but you should be able to re-apply as soon as you get your denial from any insurance. If you care to appeal it usually has to be done 30 -60 days from the time of decision some companies give you more .. I would reapply when you reach the requirements since it's already painfully aware that they won't take you before then.
