Question:
Just wondering if anyone knows of any surgeons in Iowa that do the doudenal switch?

Well according to the Obesity Help site and www.duodenalswitch.com, there are no surgeons in Iowa that perform the DS. The closest to you would be either in Nebraska or Illinios. You can go to www.duodenalswitch.com for a listing of the surgeons that do the DS. =)

At the DS site Diane mentioned there is a message board where you can ask about various surgeons. Dr Anthone, who is one of the best, is leaving USC and going to Creighton U. to head up the department. Dr Booth in MS has caused medical problems for a lot of people; avoid him! Be sure to select a surgeon from the list; there are some others who bill themselves as DS surgeons but do a poor job. I have learned through private email that Dr. Dwain Rogers in Coucil Bluffs Iowa has done some. I will see what I can find out and post my findings. I was finding it hard to believe that since the bariatic surgery was first begun at the University of Iowa that none of our many talented doctors in Iowa had gotten on board.
