Question:
Is United Health Care part of Aetna?

I just had my consult with Dr. Welker. My insurance is United HealthCare Options PPO. We have decided on the DS surgery. He asked me if UHC was part of Aetna. He stated that Aetna is no longer approving DS because they consider it "investigational". Does anyone know if UHC is part of Aetna? Thanks! :)    — Jenifer S. (posted on December 6, 2001)

This is the first I have ever heard of anything like this. I have United Healthcare and wish I would have had Aetna because at least Aetna covers the surgery. We have an exclusion.But you proabably have better coverage than I do. If your policy covers it- I know you have better coverage.
