Question:
Insurance exclusion, needs some info....

Shouldn't it be illegal for an insurance company to put in there exclusion, "regardless of medical neccessity"? That just sounds wrong to me, unfortunately its in my exclusion. But if that is how its written, wouldn't that be the same as saying....we don't care about how sick you are, we don't care.    — lesleeloo (posted on August 28, 2002)

Thanks Susan for your reply. I am on my second appeal and that is exactly how I am approaching it. The "Economic Consequences if Obesity". Actually I have a few reports from the "surgeon generals call to action". It is really good stuff but doubtful it will work. I am going to try and seek an external review, however I am not quite sure since my exclusion says Reagardless of Medical Neccessity it will be accepted. I know there are laws concerning this, so I have to do some research. Thanks again!

Contact Walter Lindstrom at obesitylaw.com...he can work miracles for a VERY modest price...think of it this way...Is it better to spend $400-$800 and have him get you approval or pay the full surgery price out of pocket? Good luck!
