Question:
Looking to buy a new policy in MI

My employeer has an exclusion and Im sick of waiting and sick of the games... What policy can I purchase to get it done??? Im in Detroit Metro area and currently hace BCBS Blue choice EDS....PLEASE HELP?!    — Snowflake48342 (posted on April 7, 2003)

I am self-employed and purchased BC/BS Blue Preferred Blue Plus PPO Individual policy. I had surgery on 1-30-03 and they have paid all but my initial consult with the surgeon, clearance consults by the cardiologist and pulmonologist, the dietician visits, and the psych evaluation. My surgery was deemed "medically necessary". Good luck!

I know that I received a letter from the Bariatric Treatment Center on Sat. saying that after 5/5/03 they will no longer be a covered provider for BC/BS as BS/BC keeps cutting what they will pay for, so they decided to stop accepting BC/BS. I have my surgery on April 25, just in time. BTC said they are going to try to get people in before the cut off 4/30 as long as they have started & had everything in order. So I wouldn't buy a BC/BS plan without carefully checking it out. I now have BC/BS PPO.
