Surgeon who will Accept?? Medicare and medicaid in Maryland

I have Medicare and Maryland Medicaid. Is there a surgeon in Maryland who will do this surgery? I contacted 2 who will not accept me because Medicare does not preapprove and they won't take a chance on not getting paid.    — [Anonymous] (posted on June 8, 2000)

If you can not find a surgeon in Md. then can you possibly go to Cleveland, Ohio to see a surgeon that will accept Medicare? He tells you up front that there is a chance that Medicare will not pay and if they do not, he asks you to sign a paper stating that you will make monthly pmts on the surgery bill. You might try Dr. Vanguri in Baltimore. I'm not certain, but I do think he accepts Medicare. It's worth a shot. Best of luck to you.
