Question:
Have I been accepted, denied or slapped in the face????

I received a letter from my insurance company today stating that I was eligible for coverage, but there was a $500 lifetime maximum on "weight reduction". Do they think this surgery is just another diet "program"? How do I reply to this one? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!    — gina P. (posted on May 2, 2001)

You will need to show that the surgery is needed for other than just weight loss. Do you have co-morbs? When your papers were sent in did they list everything like high blood pressue, sugar ect? I would have the Dr contact the insurance and get more info. Best of luck. Donna WV
