Question:
BC/BS NE but lives in FL

I reside in Florida but Hubby's insurance is From Nebraska. What do I do to get them to cover the most?... I have found a surgeon in Florida and would like to go to him, any suggestions? Also, has anyone dealt with this particular insurance and was surgery covered? (insurance doesn't kick in until Jan)... thanks for any help..    — Danette H. (posted on November 26, 2001)

The previous post was correct. I, too, live in Florida but we have BCBS of Minnesota. I still don't know if my doctor is even in the Network but I do know he is with BCBS of Fl. One thing that happened to me was the girl in the doctors office sent the paperwork directly to the Mn. office. I ended up getting a bill for $160 that the insurance wouldn't pay because my doctor doesn't have a "contract" with BCBS of MN. BUT he does with BCBS of Fl. So they had to resubmit my paperwork thru BCBS of Fl. and everything was paid 100%.

I am not sure how it works, but I will let you know. I am in the same boat. My husbands Inusrance through work is based in Louisiana, and we now live in Iowa. My first letter to them was sent today.
