Does anyone have any experience with Lifeguard and the Duodenal Switch surgery?

Hi Margie--I know a man who was approved with Lifeguard for the DS w/Dr.
Rabkin in SF, CA. He was first approved for RNY then changed his mind
& wanted the DS. They investigated the DS for him & approved him
for surgery. I believe he was the first one Lifeguard has approved for the
DS. They rarely approve any surgery type. He had surgery in Jan 2001.
Unfortunately, he doesn't have email. No matter which type of surgery,
fight for what you want! It's well worth it! Good luck to you...
