Question:
How long did it take for you to recieve Approval Letter from Ins Co?

I was approved on or around the 25th of Feb. but I still havent recieved a letter from my insurance company. My doctor's office have all the info they need. Does this mean they already have something in writting ok'ing the surgery? Or should I call my company and ask for written approval?y the way this is Cigna POS.    — Maria L. I was approved within 10 days of my surgeons office submitting the information to the insurance company. I called the office, was told that I was approved and I never received a letter from my insurance company. Everything went as planned and they paid for every bit of it. You may not get a letter, don't worry, if you got word of approval from your surgeons office I would start packing! Good luck.

My paperwork was faxed to the insurance company the second week of January and I received a call from the surgeon on January 25th (my birthday) that I was approved and given a surgery date at that time. I have still never received an approval letter from the insurance company. The surgeon's office wouldn't schedule without that. However, I am gettinga copy to keep in my own records. I am keeping a copy of everything from tests results to referrals just in case. Good luck

My insurance company doesn't send out approval letters, only denial letters. They do send written approval to my surgeon. Approval was over the phone. It took about another week for my surgeon to receive his letter. Hope this helps! ~~**Support & Information (http://www.mywls.com/OpenBB)

i never recd a letter from my insurance company altho my drs office manager did. so i called bc/bs to let them know my letter was lost. they said they never sent a letter to me. they notify the surgeon & thats it. i was worried of course, not having any proof in my hands that it was ok so the girl gave me the confirmation number that was issued to my surgeon. my insurance statements arrived 2 weeks ago & everything was paid.
