Robin, why were you denied? I have United and I got approved in 2 days???

United Health Care is one of the best for getting WLS approved. It's not the company, it's just your specific policy. I have heard of one other case where UHC denied surgery, as any type of WLS was a written exclusion to the specific policy she had. If you go for the POS or PPO versions, they seem to be better, rather than the HMO versions... I had over $90K worth of bills and all I paid was a $10 co-pay. They were simply AWESOME to deal with! Not one problem at all. Mine has a policy where they will approve/deny within a 72 hour period. Mine was approved over the phone. Can't say enough good about them.

Hi Robin, I too have United Healthcare HMO in Georgia and was initially approved and then denied. They quoted an exclusion to my policy. I was very disappointed!! I have sent an appeal but, I don't think it will do much good. Good Luck if you appeal!! I know how you feel.
