Question:
Does Aetna have a specific number of prior attempts?

Do you have to have been seen for a certain length of time or number of doctors? I will have Aetna 3-1-01 and hoping to have everything in order for a speedy approval.    — Laura S. (posted on January 14, 2001)

I have AETNA US Healthcare. I had to submit 5 yrs of diet history and have at least one medically supervised diet lasting at least 3 months. Go to the insurance link on this site and look up AETNA, there is lots of info there. good luck!

I switched to Aetna on January 1 purly for the reason of having them pay for obesity surgery.. I was just approved yesterday.. only took them two days to approve.. they will want a 5 year diet history .. Good luck
