Question:
I have Oregon Health Plan-Medicaid, would they cover me for this surgery?

My understanding is that yes Medicaid and state vocational rehab will pay for Wls. Of course, medicaid does tend to take a couple more days or weeks longer than other insurances would. I am trying to get on Alabama Medicaid now because my insurance has an obesity exclusion in it. Good Luck

Hi, I would look in your benefits book that is supposed to come with your card. I dont think Oregon Medicaid will pay for it as they are operated with Regence BC/BS I believe. The Oregon High Risk Insurance Pool (OMIP) is run through Regence and they do not cover WLS. I am in the same boat with surgery and am hoping to also have it paid for, if not will self pay somehow. good luck and email me if you are covered.
