Question:
Anyone out there with the same insurance and hospital as me?

I had my consultation at BTC in Wylie,Tx on Nov. 11. I have United Healthcare options PPO insurance. I called my insurance about five days ago and the lady said she didnt see anything from BTC asking for approval. How long does this take? I see where some people get approval in no time. Its been nearly a month and I havnt heard anything. I know every case is different. The lady in the doctors office said it could take up to 16 weeks to hear anything. I thought United was one of the faster approvals. What should I be doing now? How often should I call my insurance and check on the progress of this? Any input would be appreciated!    — Kristi M. Your paperwork should have been submitted already. A similar thing happened to me. BTC told me they faxed the preauth letter of 10/18. I checked a couple of times over the next week and the insurance did not have it. I asked the number (or address) the letter should go to and found out BTC had a different number on file that was a general number. That letter never showed up but they refaxed on 10/28 and I was approved on 10/30. I'd do more follow up.
