Question:
Has anyone dealt with SC Medicaid or Dr Rowitz in Anderson SC?

I am wondering if anyone has dealt with SC Medicaid and what the outcome was, how long they took to approve, and what kind of specific info they wanted. How long did they go back in your diet history or medical records? And has anyone had Dr. Rowitz in Anderson SC as a surgeon?    — curliequu (posted on August 24, 2003)

Melanie, this site has a wonderful surgeon database. Go to the top of the page and click on "find a doc". Click on "b" and then click on your state. You will then get a listing of all of the WLS surgeon's in your state. Dr. Rowitz is the first one listed. If you click on him, you will find out insurance info. that his patients have posted and also comments about him from members. If you click on their name, you will then get to their profiles to see how they are doing. Hope this helps. Shelley

I had my surgery in October of 2002 with Dr. Rowitz. He is a very nice guy and did a super job. I also work for the hospital system at Anderson. Everyone has wonderful things to say about him. He has a support group meeting on the first Thursday of each month at the Anmed Health Campus on Highway 81. You might try to attend one of those. There will be a big room full of people who have had or will be having the surgery by Dr. Rowitz.

Thanks for the info. I have already attended a support group meeting and I meet with Dr rowitz next week. I guess Im just getting a little nervous that Ill have trouble with Medicaid and wanted to talk to others about it. I have also heard good things about the Dr. and cant wait to meet him.

oh, and Susan..I just read your profile last night when I was searching through Dr rowitz patients and I think its a great idea to give your own blood incase you need it. Im gonna see if I can do that. Thanks for the idea:)
