Has anyone been approved and not had the 5 years needed?

Has anyone ever been approved with their insurance and not meet the 5 year criteria. I am two months shy of the five year criteria.    — Tammy P. (posted on March 25, 2004)

Not every ins. company has this as a requirement - mine didn't. The only advice I have for you is to call and set up a consult with your surgeon of choice or go to your PCP to get a referral if you need one (usually only if you have a HMO). Some surgeons have pretty long wait lists just for consults so you may as well reserve a spot while you are waiting those two months. If you do get in to see them before that, explain to them what is going on and ask that they hold any test requests, or filing the paperwork until your deadline is up. Don't wait to call until the two months pass, b/c you may have to wait even longer.
