Question:
What happens if documentation is beyond it's storage time?

07/23 - Was just notified by my PCP that my insurance company has a new criteria. You can't list the weight loss history by yourself - you have to have 3 letters from 3 different sources stating dates, times, treatment & weight record. I just called 5 places that were on my list and they all had the same thing to say. We don't keep records that old (7-10 years)! I only have 1 out of the 3 required, that I could use. My PCP asked me if I was really sure about having this surgery because she has a patient who had it done and wished they hadn't. My PCP also asked if I had ever tried Meridia & Orlostat (Xenical); but, I've already done the pill thing... This is just so frustrating - does anyone have any suggestions? They would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!    — Peri B. (posted on July 23, 1999)

i am almost sure that places like jenny craig and nutrishit systems is suppose to keep your info somewhere for at least 20 years plus heres one you didnt you maybe you did think of ask your doctor to give you copies of at least the dates of your visits where you had her or the nurse weigh you... most insurance companies not only look for you to have tried to help yourself but they also look for a period of upto 5 yrs where you had a weight problem hey if i could write the note for you i would tlc hope it works out for you also remember jenny craig, ans weight watchers are lifetime so their records should be too and maybe it would be worth it for you to buy richard simons deal a meal and show recipts and keep a weight log and have your doctor document it
