Question:
Anyone know of a Dr. in Ohio or Western Pa that does laproscopic surgery?

Hi I am still trying to research this. I am desperately looking for a Dr. around the Youngstown area that does laprscopic surgery. I don't want to go too far. I was thinking more like in Akron, Cleveland, or Pittsburgh, PA. I looked into a Dr. in Cleveland & he doesn't do lap. surgery & the one I found in Pittsburgh, PA isn't covered by my insurance?? Hi Allison, I researched this for you last week, maybe you didn't get the information. On the Ohio surgeons page there is a Dr. Kligman from Toledo that does Lap RNY AND takes your insurance. Hopes this helps. shelley

Dear Shelly, Although Dr. Mark Kligman in Toledo Ohio may be a little farther than you want to go, I think you will be happy with the prompt service and Dr. kligmans skills. I went to a Pittsburg Dr. first, a real zoo, stay away or you will regret it in about six months when you have your first appointment.

Dr. Colella in Pittsburgh (Allegheny General Hospital) is doing the lap procedure. He has experience doing the open procedure and is just starting using the lap with this operation. After having an opportunity to meet with him, I really felt comfortable with him. He has a lot of experience with the lap procedure in other operations and in my case he would have another surgeon assisting him who has done many lap RNY bypass procedures. He does accept your insurance.
