Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

struggled greatly. Got severly depressed when I couldn't play with my daughter or walk easily up and down stairs. My docotr scared me when she started talking about my liver and it's function. That's what made me decide I needed to do somehting. Most of my weight was gained during my preganancy 6 years ago. I gained 110 pounds in 9 months.

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

I was excited about it right from the start. People thought I was nuts but I was determined. I heard about it by accident actually. I was trying to get information on Meridia and my PCP called a nutrition clinic at the hospitala nd they stated they only deal with surgery patients and the nurse asked her if I was interested in surgery and I immediately said yes without even knowing what the surgery was.
