Hello,

I'm 41, with a BMI of 41. I am waitint to hear from the Insurance Company.
I have a tenative date of 7-11-02.

Well I'm on my way!
I was approved in two days and will have my surgery 7-11-02.
This is a wonderful site and I can not tell you what a comfort
it is to have so many people really understand you.

I have been overweigt for over half of my life, during the last 20 years I've ranged from 135 to my present 250. I was 213 on the day I delivered our only child Rachel, and the lowest I've been since then is 175. I never thought I would be this big, but if you don't nip it at 10 or 15 pounds you can just keep adding and adding and one day you realize heck I'm unhealthy.

I worked for a Orthopedic Surgeon as his Surgical Assistant for 10 years, that's how I met Dr. Balliro,my surgeon of choice for my bypass. We would preform surgery on adults and children that required an Anterior approach, and a Vascular Surgeon. One day during a procedure with Dr. Balliro, I said, I'd like to have gastric bypass surgery, he said you aren't big enought (he he he)
I was only 80 lbs overweight then, I said well it's easier to gain 20 than lose 80. That was 6 years ago and I really never gave it much more though until I saw a friend from the hospital on Christmas Eve. She haad the procedure done and had gone from a 20 plus to a 10 I have know this Woman for at least 15 years and really almost didn't reconize her. She said when you are ready call me and I'll tell you all about it.

One day after showering I was on the side of the bed putting on lotion and my daughter walks in as said Mom do you have on panties, well that was it, final straw, the light went off.I am fat and I need top do something about this. Let's see a couple of choices here: smack the kid, nah that won't work, lock the door when I put on lotion, nah thats not it, wear really larger drawers or heck make a call and schedule a consult.
I made the call and I'm ready to change my life, improve the quality of life and buy ALL my panties from Victoria's Secert.
My poor husband, he just dosen't know how differnt our lives will be.

My surgery has been moved to 7-16-02 instead of today.
Soooo I will continue to clean my house, work out, get a massage and look forward to next week.

I had the massage today, I'm getting myself ready. I have eaten just about everything I thought I wanted so I have no current cravings. I'm already looking around at all my friends that need to have this done. Looking forward to Tuesday.

Hello Everyone,
I had my first post op visit today 20lbs in two weeks. I'm delighted. I am now on soft foods. I walk daily . Thanks for the great support this site provides, I have had a great may questions answered.
