have been over weight since my parents had my tonsils out at age 10. tired of the discrimination that comes with obesity from society, being passed over for jobs and not treated the same as "thin" counterparts. the main issue is my health , I want to keep it.






July 3 2002: well the ultrasound, ekg and blood work are finally done !!! Dr. Olsen says everything looks good, and he is ready to dance on the 16 th of July ! FINALLY !!!!
It has been a long frustrating road, but everyone without exception has said it is worth it and they would do it again.
I am going to try to exercise as much as possible between now and then so it will make things as easy as possible.
I would like to thank everyone that has sent me an email of encouragement , and advice, and helpful hints to make this as easy as possible..God bless you all.....
well enuff for now !!!lol just waiting on the 16th, my new birthday...heck now i will have 2 a year, twice as many presents, and i will be easier to buy for( off the rack sizes FINALLY!!!!!))
OH YEAH ! 1 MORE THING.I HAVE A NEW GRAND DAUGHTER ALMOST 2 WEEKS OLD !! My first grand child........................... Her name is HARLEY NIKITA WRIGHT (my angel).

July 13 2002
Well it is the last weekend before the big day !!! And I cant wait !!! It is hard to believe that in 3 days i will be letting some one willingly reroute my insides ! lmao
This has been a long road with many obsticles to over come as so many before me have found out, and so will the next ones wanting a life saving change. I had a little scare that the date might be put off , there was something that showed up in the EKG, but it has showed up before when I had cancer surgery and things went smooth then too. Glad my Dr is so helpful in so many ways.
I would like to say some things about my PCP Dr. Albert Brandon
who has been so helpful through all this....Doc, thanks a bunch my friend, without you i would have never gotten this far.
Everything seems to be ready, except i am going to buy a new mattress today for the bed.....
And the most resistance i have met is from of all people....
my dear mother...guess she is just worried about her bouncing 366lb baby boy !!! Well mom, please dont worry, God has helped me get this far and i know in my heart He is with me every step of the way, just like you will be.....and remember i love you.
Well this will be the last update til i get back home from the hospital. Cant wait to get back and see liddle miss Harely Nikita
My grand baby..went over last night just to hold her a while.
Babies are so pure and sweet and innocent, everythinng that is good in the world and more.

7-30-02....first visit post-op....
Well I am 2 weeks post-op ! Heck it wasnt near as painful as I had imagined with an open rue-n-y..... I took very little pain meds and didnt need it . I am 25 lbs lighter already!!! Wow ! what a great feeling to know that the foods are going ok and that
I am having no difficulties at all.the tube removal was painless
and I have one tube left to take out in 2 weeks.
Now I cant say enough great things about the staff at Centennial Womens Hospital where my surgery was preformed. Without exception I had the best care you could ask for, and the best staff of angles(nurses) to care for me that you can imagine possible. Ladies you were all excellent and beyond !!!
And as for Dr. Douglas O. Olsen.well I could not have made a better choice. This man is the best you can ask for.Extremely cautious and careing , down to earth as can be and he was there every day even on Sunday morning, to check on me ! That was impressive in itself ! I would like to take a second to thank Dr. Olsen for all he has done for me in giving me my life back, and making the quality of my life better already. Thanks doc...
I have had no back pain since the surgery , and it is so wonderful to be pain free in that area, you cannot imagine the relief already !
My wife Sheila has been the greatest blessing in all this the way she has cared for me in the hospital and at home.... she is my angel that is not for sale or trade..period ! thank you honey.
well enough for now, I feel fantastick, better than before the surgery. If you are considering having the surgery, choose a good DR, check him out as I did, check the hospital, and go for it !!!! start your new life and enjoy it.......see you in a few weeks....Bobby







08-16-02..........
I am 1 month post op today and I have a visit scheduled with Dr Olsen at noon. I was relived to get the last tube out. It hasnt hurt when he removed any of the tubes.
When they weighed me today I was excited to learn that I had lost a total of 34 lbs im only 1 month !!! Wow what a start on my new life !!!!
I must say I do feel a lot better already and I know it is just going to get better each week.... I have had a small problem eating chicken, but Dr Olsen said it was a common complaint and it would get better and not get discouraged, which I wont do, everything has been going well and my back pain is still not there, THANK GOD !!!
My breathing is not as labored when I exert myself walking now as it was before the surgery....THIS IS GOOD !!!!!!!!
I plan on being more active this fall , hunting and hiking in the mountains that I love and have missed being in so much.
I am ready to begin a whole new way of life, like a normal person for a change.....this is going to be strange, but I am ready for all the benifits it will afford me in this journey.

11-04-02...........Hello from a healthier and much happier Bobby! I have offically lost 78 lbs as of 10-28-02. what a difference it has made in my life already. I not only feel great but Iam getting around much better too, I dont feel like a weeble anymore, wabbling..I feel so light on my feet now it is amazing. Dr Olsen and his staff have been superb to say the least.People ask me almost daily"Would you do it again knowing what you know now?" IN A HEART BEAT I WOULD !!! NO RESERVATIONS AT ALL!(as long as I could have Dr Olsen and the kind staff at Centennial Womens Hospital again).
I was totally amazed when Terri weighed me and said you have lost an additional 28 lbs since a month ago. I have counted the days and have averaged 3/4 of a lb per day since the surgery on July 16th of this year...My clothes fall off me now and we have purchased a few smaller clothes and I found some old "small" clothes that I havent worn in years....they fit now !
It is a great feeling to see someone you havent seen in several months and they are simply amazed at what you look like now as compared to before. I have gone from 52 waist pants to my 46 waist pants falling off of me.There fore I need to get on the clothing exchange offered here and see if someone can use my old duds, and I will gladly give them away, causeI am not ever going to need tent sized shirts and pants ever again in my life !!! I can buy off the rack finally! My wife got some new sweat pants for me the other day , I do get cold easier now, and my old sweat pants were 3XL, THE NEW ONES ARE ONLY XL !!!! Do you know how happy that made me feel? I can tell you it was fandamntastick!!! and that is an understatemant!
A very sweet and pretty lady i work with,Melissa, has asked me to hurry up and update my site, I took the time so she can see the report, since she is also considering the surgery.Melissa dont be afraid, go for it, I will help you any way I can!!!Well enough for now, I am having no serious problems and am still learning about my new system. I will update as I get more news and make progress. I dont have another visit til Jan 17th but will update way before then. I actually can enjoy walking again, something so simple that I missed so very much , and i do walk everywhere I can now ! SEE YOU FOLKS IN A FEW WEEKS ! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I sure am. And again thanks to my wife for her suppport, without her this would have never been possible or have happened. Also I want to thank God for all His added blessings I have recieved.
