Hello everybody, here I am 5 months post-op 82 lbs lighter and feel great. I can do things, I had stop doing years ago. I'm always ready to go and do new and exciting things. I have regain my life again. I'm hoping to continue to loose more weight. I am walking 20 minutes a day and feel great. I want to increase my walking time but handling my job and household that's enough for me right now. This is the one of the best decisions I've made in my life. What's really weird to me now is that, I can see how much I used to consume in food. What a difference this surgery has made in my life. I wouldn't hesitate to tell anybody else to go for it. We are killing ourselves everyday slowly by being overweight and trying to fight a never ending battle.
It's August 14, 2005 and my total weight loss was 124 lbs. I have gained back 10 lbs. which I'm working on loosing. I have been under alot of stress and I suffer back pain. I'm the apple shape so all of my weight is in the middle of my body. I went to see a plastic surgeon, but quite honestly I can't afford it to pay for this procedure and have all the excesses removed from my abdomen. I still feel good and my health is great I'll just have to live with back pain from all the hanging weight in front. If any body has any suggestions on any other methods or Dr's that would work with a payment plan (not finance) of how I could have this procedure done please email me I live in Phoenix, Arizona. Thanks you,
Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Juarez Hilario, M.D.
The very first time, I went for a consult. I didn't see my surgeon. I saw his assitant he was very patient and answered all my questions.I had to wait a long time to be seen at my appointment I couldn't believe the amount of people that were actually in the office waiting to be seen. The office staff tries to keep up with the work load and they are polite and courteous to everyone.I would say they are very, very, very busy.I didn't see Dr. Hilario Juarez until the day of my surgery he came into the pre-op area and answered all my questions he is not very out spoken but he answers all your questions and smiles alot. The only down fall was that my insurance does not pay for services at St. Lukes so I was unable to get any after care information other then the discharge information I got from the hospital. When I asked Dr. Juarez for information he advised me to look on the internet. I had already done so before my surgery I think if there was a dietician or a Dr's office that can provide information as to what is a full, clear, and pureed diet with more detail at least what you can and cannot eat during these stages it would be helpful to other people who are left in the cold. Dr. Hilario Juarez surgical competence and bedside manners are good. I felt that the most information regarding this surgery was at his seminar where all different people ask different questions you might not think about yourself.

I was approved by my insurance on the first attempt. It was getting the approval sent to my Dr's office that took along time I was approved in January 2002 and My Dr. didn't receive the actual paper work approval until March 2002 It took quite a few calls on my part and writing numbers and extensions before the proper papers were Faxed to Dr. Hilarios Juarez's office.
