Good AFTERNOON - and a Happy ONE YEAR Re-birthday to you!!! I realize I’m a tad bit early, but better early wishes than no wishes at all! I found this quote and just love it! When running up a hill, it’s alright to give up as many times as you wish – as long as your feet keep moving. By - Shoma Morita M.D. I can only imagine that your experience has been wonderful. Full of changes and new experiences. Congratulations to YOU!!! If you have an opportunity and/or haven’t already, please stop by and update your profile! We’d all love to know how well you’ve progressed!!! If you have a few moments, please take the time to send well wishes to your fellow “re-birthday” buddies!!! Hey Joe, Your wife did a great job in letting us know how you did with surgery. I know it is rough at first, but, hang in there kiddo, it will get better. Your journey is just starting, and looks like you have a great support person at home. God bless, and strengthen you, Laury

Joe, you allowed me to use your name in a letter to Aetna and was such a great support to me when I was going for approval. Now it's your turn to get your surgery and get healthy! I wish you the very best and will be waiting to hear the good news that you're on the losing side, safe and sound!!! All my best, Jan

Congratulations on your surgery date, Joe! I was kind of surprised when I ran across your name on this site, wondering if it was the same Joe Bartlett I know, and lo and behold it is. Kudos to you for your decision to go forward with this surgery. If you ever need any encouragment you should feel free to call on me. I have a surgery date scheduled for July 21, 2004 and am still a bit nervous about the enormous change I am making. (but at least I won't be enormous afterwards!!) This is such a great website for support and you have definitely made a great contribution by posting your appeal letter. I may need to borrow from it! Best of luck to you! Margaret Darby
