Welcome to Nicole's Story

Im Pre Op I have had all the required forms sent to my insurance, (Psyc eval and Diatition report.)I am hoping it goes fast from here. It has seemed like a long process, I am sure it will be worth all of the tears and head aches from here. Due to personal Physition and husban wanting to try this and that. I finaly had to say "I have tried everything and have waied 6 years what will be different this time?" "I have my helth and 2 young girls to also think about, this is for me and my girls will you stand by me or will I do this alone?"Needless to say when I put my foot down wich I normally do not they are standing by me and I have more suppor than I ever.

March,11,2003 I have been working hard at gettig myself in better health for sugery on April 22, 2003 It is not comeing fast enough... I have had the date for about a week now and it has seemed like a month. My doctor sent me to a BEHAVIOR MANNAGEMENT Doctor yester day and he took me off of food and put me on a 3 shakes a day thing O-MAN am I going to go crazy, Life revolves around food and having NONE is strait torture. But he did say I can loose about 20lbs
in the month I do this wich will run right into surgery date. This will also make the time go slower but I guess we do what needs to be done, and if I want to see my girls grow up and not out well I need to change my ways.Well if there is anymore info I'll be back.. Best of Luck to all who visits... Nicole

April 6,2003 I now have 17 days untill surgery, I am getting so nervous but extremely excited. On the 14th I go in for pre-op appointment and then 8 days after that at 3:30pm I go under and will wake up on the new side of weight LOSS. I know all will be well and I will finally have a grip on food. I will have further update after pre-op. Also want to give a big thanks to Sharon for this beautiful profile page...

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Roger Fast MD
I have met with Dr. Fast only once but thought he is great. If you don't want to hear the truth he's nor for you. I asked him "How hard is it to change your ways after the surgery?" His reply was " Firt you don't change your ways after you change them NOW!" " and second you have to pick your priorities." His office staff is awsome I have called a number of times and they have given me pointers from A-Z And how to rush the process with my insurance. His office really emphasizes on 2 liters of water per day,2 mile walking a day and no cheating in the"golden period" first 6 months because that is when you loose the most weight the fastest and your body really adjusts. Over all I felt really comfortable and sure in what they said.

I had made a few phone calls just to get the ball rolling a little faster. Dr Fasts office had mentioned they may require A psyc eval and a dietitions report so when I left there office I went home and called the Insurance they said it is ther policy and before they sent a reply to Dr Fasts office I had already had my appointments scedualed. It has all seemed pretty easy. The seconed request was sent 2/27/03 so we will see in this last sreach how smooth it goes.
