I am 37 year old working mother of 2 boys ages 12 and 14. I have been happily married for 15 yrs. I have been heavy all my life and since having children I just kept gaining weight and while losing some at times I always would gain back what i loss and then more. I am so excited i have finally decided to have this surgery. I have thought long and hard about this decision and with a lot of research i have learned a lot. I have went to 2 different seminars and found a lot of information. I decided on my doctor and made an appointment with him. I went for my appiontment with him on Sept, 8 2003. I thought he was a great doctor he seemed concerned about my health and thought the surgery would really help me..........

I went for my psychologist test on Sept 20 and I think it went well. It was a test unlike any I have ever taken before. I'm just glad to have that behind me.

I had my blood work done in late October so i could take it with me when i went to see Dr. Tribble on November 3rd. My visit with him and his assistant went well. I have everything that i need to send to the insurance for approval. I have to wait until the first of January for my insurance to change over before my paper work can be sent for approval....

I have a date of January 12 for my surgery pending approval from insurance.

I have my pre-opt visit January 6th to see the surgeon. I went today and every thing is ready to go for surgery.. I have to go on Friday to the hospital to do my lab work.. Then on Sunday I have to be on clear liquid all day and have two fleet soda drinks to get me ready for surgery on Monday. Also i need to do some shopping and cleaning i will be set.

It is January 15 and I have made it home.. I went through surgery and it went well.. I had it done lap and i have not had any problems. I was a little bit sore. I also find it hard to take those little sips of water and drinks the protien shakes. But the good thing is that every day is getting better and better. Now just waiting to see the doctor for first week checkup and see how much i have lost.

Well first check up went great i had lost 18 pounds since surgery. The Doctor said everything looks great. My stomach is healing very well. It sure is great to be on the losing side..

Things were going great still learning how to eat new thing.. It is still hard to get in all my protien and water but i'm working on that and it is getting easier. I am having a hard time with eating my meats...

I had some problems with eating a peice of baked fish and wound up in the hospital because it got stuck... That is a very painful thing. I stayed for 3 days before coming home.. The Doctor put me back on soft foods for a few weeks... The good thing is i have lost 34 pounds..

Well I had another problem with food getting stuck .. this time it was a peice of ham.. It would not come up or would not go down... I went back to the hospital for some relief.. When this happens It is very painful in the upper chest and I dry heave and foam at the mouth..(frothing) is what they call it... After some pain med at the hospital to relax the stomach spasms.. things finally went down and i spent 2 days this time in the hospital...Well i'm back on soft foods again...

Hello again it is the end of Febuary and the weight is comming off.. I have lost 50 pounds so far.. I am still learning how to eat and still no meats yet... The doctor says my stomach has not healed yet.. so i'm taking it easy on things and not eating things that might get stuck....

Well thing are getting much better i have been for 3 scopes now and eating is much easier than before. I can eat meats and salads and things that i could not eat before.. I have lost about 75 pounds now and life is good..

I just went for my 6 months check up and i have now lost 110 pounds..I feel so much better than before.. I have a lot more energy and can do a lot more things because i don't tire out so easy..I am so glad i did this for myself and thankful to my family for the support they have given me to help me get this far.. I can't say it has been easy i have had a few bumps along the way but it has been so worth it...

well it has been a while since i have up dated but things are going great.. I am trying to up my protein my hair was coming out by the hands full.. but it is now getting better. My weight has slowed down some but still coming off..

It is now October and thing are going good I have now lost 140 pounds..The weight has slowed down but still coming off .. I have had to go and do some shopping for new winter clothes since I could not wear anything i had from last year.. I can now get into a 16/18 or an XL shirt and even some large. My jean i bought a month ago is now getting loose on me. I guess that is a good problem to have..

well I have been looking into getting some plastic surgery and I went to see the surgern a few weeks ago and thing went great.. He looked at doing my arms and a breast lift.. I tell you it is no fun having to have those pictures of you in the nude but I guess it has to be done...I will go back in a few weeks and have the pictures for the tummy tuck and the thigh lift done and see if insurance will pay for it... I found out that my insurance is dropping coverage for the bypass surgery the first of the year. The plastic surgern thinks it will get harder to get these thing paid for by insurance..

It is a good day.. I just found out I was approved for my breast lift and to have my arms done... Thank the good Lord for that... I have a date set for November 24 the day before thanksgiving and boy am I thankful...I now hope to get approval for my tummy tuck and thigh lift maybe before the end of the year.. I will keep you posted...

Well I had my arm lift and a breast lift.. They took a pound of skin off of my arms and lifted my breast.. I have done very well with the surgery.. I have had very little pain.. It really was not bad at all..I am so glad i did it.. My arms look great.. My breast are still healing but they look much better...I have finally made it to my first goal .. I have made it to 200 pounds.. Thank God for this surgery..

It is Christmas time.. Things are going great.. I have been approved for my tummy tuck and to have my thighs done.. I am scheduled to have my tummy tuck on Jan 11th..Things are still healing great from my arm lift and breast lift.. I have been shopping for new clothes and i have bought a pair of 16 jeans WOW
I have not been in jeans that size since high school.. This is a great journey..

Time is flying by .. I have made it through Christmas.. I have lost down to 196 now and it is almost been a year.. Boy what a ride it has been...

I was just up dating my progress.. I had my tummy tuck January 11th and everything is going well.. It is bit harder to heal up from than the breast lift and having my arms done... But things are coming along... I had almost 7 pounds took off with my tummy tuck..I will have to say I have never remember my stomach being so flat...I have to give a big thanks to my plastic surgeon for the great job he has done...

It is me again... I have been for my one year check up.. I have lost a grand total of 165 pounds.. I can't believe what a year makes... This is a life changing surgery.. I am so much more healthy..

Just a quick up-date.. I am scheduled to have my thighs done March 7th.. I am still trying to heal up from the tummy tuck.. I have went back to work and i am not as tuff as I though I was ..Things are still a bit sore..

Well I made it through the thigh lift I had to stay on night in the hospital with this one...They would not let me get out of bed until the next morning...It was a bit hard to get up and move around...I will have to say this was the worst of the 3 surgerys that i had for my plastic work...I see why they leave this one for last ...But I am glad to get it over with..and the result are nice...He took 4 pounds of skin off of my legs and did a lot of lipo...

It is almost 3 weeks after my thigh lift and thing were going good and on thursday afternoon I started to have pain in my left leg...I took a pain pill and waited a while but my leg keep hurting worse.. I called my doctor and he told me to put ice on it and take some more pain pills and to call him in the morning and let him know how i was doing.. He happened to be out of town..Well by 5 the next morning I had a 103 fever so I went to the ER...It turns out I had got a staff infection in my leg...Boy the infection was worse than the surgery it self..My leg hurt so bad and swelled up and I ran fever for about 4 days.. Well thankfully with medication I am on the road to recovery...

Well it is the second week in April and I have finally went back to work...Things are healing nicely now.. My legs have finally stoped draining and closed up...This has been quit an adventure with all of these plastic surgery since November..I was thinking about having the back side lifted but after having the thighs done i think i am done for now..I need time to heal and let my body rest from surgery...

Hello my friends...I went for another check up with my plastic surgern and he said everything is looking great now...Thank goodness for that...It has been a wild ride...My weigh loss is still moving... I am down to 170 now..It is amazing how much better i feel about myself now since surgery...I cant believe the difference a year and half makes...

Well it is November almost 2 years after my gastric by-pass surgery.. My weight come to a stand still...I have not lost any weight since May ... But I am pretty happy where i am right now... I am in a size 10-12 pants and a medium shirt... I can't complain with that being I started out in a size 32.. I would say I have come a long ways... I am so thankful for this surgery and the changes it has made in my life... I feel so much better about my self...

Hello again.. I have decide to go back and have some more work done on my legs...I still have alot of loose skin on my inner thighs... I am not looking forward to having this surgery again but I know it needs to be done... My plastic surgeon is a great doctor.. He got every thing approved by the insurance.. I am so thankful for that... I am going for surgery November 28th... I am getting excited but also scared... This was a tough surgery last time... But I know it will be worth it...

Today is Thanksgiving almost 2 years after this great journey that i have been on... I have so much to be thankful for...I am thankful to God for the strenth and will power to follow the program and stay healthy... I am also thankful to for my family who has stood by me in this journey and has been my rock ... I am also thankful for you guys who has always been here when i needed support... Thank you...

It has been 2 yrs ago it has been an amazing ride... I have stayed the same weight now for about 6 months now... I had all my blood work done and everything has come back great... I still have to work hard to get in my protein but I just take it one day at the time...

I have been struggling with tension headaches for a long time now alot due to my job... I have had alot of stress with my job and then got real stressed out when my dog died... She was like on of my children... It was very hard on our family... I started having Miragrain headaches...The first one I had last for a whole week...Going everyday for shots and taking med at home ... It was a hard time... Well then about 3 week after that I had another Miragrain due to stress of my job... I drove a school bus... This headache lasted for another whole week... I went everyday for shots and ended up at the hospital ...I was sent the next week for theropy on my neck and back... I decided to quiet my job to relieve the stress... I went for theropy for 2 weeks and I am doing so much better I have not even had a tension headache since then... I did learn with going to theropy that the muscles in my neck and back are very weak due to the rapid weight loss... So I have decided to start going to the GYM again... I need to build my muscles back up...

It is March already my son just had his 15 birthday.. He was looking at some old pitures and could not believe how much different I look now.. I still find it hard to look at myself as not being over weight... I guess that is a hard one to overcome... I do feel so much better ...
