I had the "O" ring surgery done 10 yrs ago. Was very happy with it. Lost 78 lbs (was within 10 lb of goal) Slowly the staple line split, and I re-gained most of the weight back. Am now waiting for approval for a re-vision. Am somewhat leary of the RNY....it sounds so drastic. I want to feel good after surgey and not sick most of the time.

UPDATE. Have researched RNY & am much more comfortable with it. I am fortunate enough to have the same surgeon who performed the "O-Ring" 10 yrs ago...excellent surgeon, Dr. John Huse in Indianapolis. HAve June 8, 2004 surgery date. Would like to hear from others!!!

Update: 6 months Post-Op. Have now lost 67 lbs. Am within 7 lbs of goal and FEEL Great. My surgeon, Dr John Huse, was great....and I have had no problems, other than some dehydration at the beginning. My energy level is real high and I am off all meds. God Bless Dr Huse and Aetna!!!
