I am hoping to get approval for the surgery, I have done all of the pre-op visits, now waiting to hear from the insurance co. I got new insurance at the beginning of the year so i have to start the subbmission process all over again, I hope they will pay for most if not all of the surgery or I wont be able to afford it. I am married to a wonderful man who met me when i was thin and loves me 150 lbs later. I have a 5 year old daughter who i want to see grow and i have a history of pulmonary embolisms that i live in constant fear of repeating. I am very aware of the risks of gastric bypass surgery and as all of you Im sure feel the risks of the surgery are far less than the risks of being heavy for the rest of my life. I have attended one support group meeting and intend to attend more. My husband is very supportive of my decision t go through with this but I dont really have any one else to talk to about it so any suopport would be appreciated. I will update as soon as I hear from the insurance co. P.S. I dont a picture posted because I dont have ascanner or a disk.
Got a letter in the mail 4 days after sending for approval, I'M APPROVED!!!!!! I have an appt with the surgeon to discuss and ask questions and then i get a surgery date- YEAH!!!!! thanks JC!!
8/14/00 surgery is scheduled for 9/27/00 had to put it off due to some family issues but I'm back ontrack now. have an appt with dr aslam on 8/29/00 for myuu h&p and then i should be ready to go. wish me luck i am nervous but a lot more confident than before.


july 23,2001- well its been ten months since my surgery and I feel great, i have lost 106 pounds and still losing about 2-3 lbs weekly. i came throught the surgery very well and have had no complications, i am now looking forward to that panniculectomy!!!!! i wish you all good luck and best wishes for success!!!
