4 months now...70 pounds GONE

3Years now I never lost another pound, I have gained back 50. I ended up getting ulcers around my staple line inside my pouch that started bleeding in December 2001 I was hospitalized because I was border line coma, I had to have 4 blood transfusions and they still have not gotten my levels back to where they use to be. I am now taking iron by I.V. I am sick alot now, not with my stomach, with colds and such because I do not have a very good immune system from not absorbing the vitamins that I need and taking supplements does not seem to help me, my body just flushes them also. Would I do it over again? Yes, would I do things different next time? yes... I would still go to the same doctor and the same hospital that has never been a question, I just wish that I had been more knowledgeable. I realy do not like to talk about it so please do not write, I am sorry.
Good Luck
Lisa

Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Patricia S. Choban, M.D., F.A.C.S.
I thought Dr Choban was wonderful from the moment we met, she is very down to earth yet very knowledgable. The office was beautiful and the staff there were so nice and helpful! Dr Choban was very patient in explaining all of the procedures, risks, expectations and answering my questions. I would rate Dr Choban overall a 10!! THIS WAS MY OWN EXPERIENCE SINCE YOU ASKED, I CAN NOT PROMISE THE SAME IN ALL ASSPECTS TO OTHERS, I WISH YOU LUCK IN YOUR DECISION.
Insurer Info:
BC/BS of Western PA, Highmark
They where very nice to deal with actually, I do not feel that they stalled at all. They had not recieved the letter yet from BTC when I called them, so I asked if BTC could just fax them the letter they said yes, have them call us. BTC then called BC/BS to get the fax number, BC/BS asked BTC a few questions and gave them approval over the phone. I wish I would have known that was all that had to be done, my surgery would probably be over by now. Ohwell, lesson learned.
