Today 11/22/99 I rec'd a phone call from my Maria (THE ANGEL IN DR. BESSLERS OFFICE) to tell me that I was APPROVED!!! I could not explain the feeling that I had after that phone call. I was scheduled for surgery on 12/07/99 And she sent the paperwork on Friday to BC/BS and I was approved on Monday. I would like to kiss the person who approved me without the fight that some people have experienced. WISH ME LUCK
Well i am 1 1/2 yrs post op. I have lost about 150lbs plus some.. (stopped counting) I love my new life, i have so much more energy, and would do it again in a heartbeat. I am now around 175lbs and very happy with the outcome of the surgery.

Dr. Bessler is a straight foward tell it like it is kind of doctor. I feel rather comfortable with him. His office staff is very kind and considerate. My first impression: I was a little taken back by how young he is, but that has not changed the fact that he is a fantastic MD. My surgery is scheduled for 12/09/99 Surgery went great.. He is the GREATEST...Highly recomended to all who are interested in WLS. His attending physician who's name is TY was absoulutely wonderful. Marie in his office was an angel, all the staff at Columbia Presbyterian were great. The after care is fantastic, along with the support group.
