Dennisse, congratulations on your surgery and starting your new life in the losing lane! I wanted to respond to your question, since today I am 8 weeks post op from my RNY and was just saying to a co-worker that I can actually say that I feel pretty much back to normal at this point. I'm able to eat more than in the past 8 weeks, it feels satisfying, tastes good, and the best part is I no longer get that nauseaus feeling or vomit at all. It seems that weeks 3-6 were the worst, in terms of trying out the new stomach, learning how to chew thoroughly, and actually deciding what to eat. But at 8 weeks, I feel like I'm making delicious, healthful choices, and I have learned to eat slowly and chew very well, and the bonus of not really craving carbohydrates is the best part of having this surgery. As a carbohydrate addict, it is amazing to me that one bite of a bagel with butter is about all I can handle without feeling very full. But knowing that I can have that one bite to satisfy a craving, and not go crazy eating two or three bagels at one sitting is the miracle of WLS. Good luck to you and don't worry, it does get easier.

Hello all, Just a quick note to say I'm home! I feel like heck and I'm exhausted most of the time but I am home. Doc said everything went very well and that he'll see me in a week. I'll post a fll summary of my expereince when I'm a bit more up to it. I'll reply to all of you who posted on my page as well. I can't thank all of you enough! Off I go to walk, drink and then sleep.
