Jennifer did SO WELL w/ her surgery! She went in to the OR at about 10:30 AM on Thursday morning, and was in her room @ about 4:30 PM. (Surgery didn't take that long - she just had to wait for her room to open up.)
As soon as she got to her room, she was up and out of bed walking to the bathroom! She was in a fair amount of pain, but she was a real trooper!
Thursday night, she was very groggy and just wanted to sleep. Friday, though, she was a different person! When I got to the hospital at about 10 AM, she wasn't in her room. I went looking for her, and she was out walking around the ward - unbelievable! She even ran into Dr. Oh, and he was very impressed! She was probably out walking around more than she was in bed.
Friday also brought her first "food." She got to have one ounce cups of very diluted apple juice. She tolerated very well - no problems at all. She even said that it tasted like a slice of heaven! She also had a SUGAR FREE orange popsicle later in the day and loved that, too!
Saturday, SHE WAS DISCHARGED! I actually think she was ready to go home on Friday, but her potassium level was a little low, and they wanted to get that back to normal before she could go home.
She is ON HER WAY! I am so very proud of my sister. She really came through like a champ. She'll probably be posting her herself tonight or tomorrow!
