I am 24 and happily married for 2 years. I have had 3 miscaragies. And we are hopping that me having the WLS will help us consieve. My husband is my biggest support for me. He is like me though, excited and worried about this surgery. We are excited because we know that the WLS is basically going to help me live a fuller, healthier, and more active life. But then worried if somthing will go wrong. But I know that I have God and my family and friends on my side.

Well, every thing has went soooo quickly. I had my WLS July 21. It is now August 2 and I have already lost 35 pounds. I just got my stitches out yesterday. And I feel wonderful. Not much pain anymore but there still is some. I had the open surgery, my insision is about 8-9 inches and it is healing up beautifully. My wedding band is falling off now. And I can see the bones in my calves. I never new they were there because I had never seen it. I am so excited. I finally happened to me. Before surgery I weighed 335. When I left the hospital I had lost down to 328. I now weigh 304 at 2 weeks out. Yeah!

Today is 8/8/2003. I went to see my dietition yesterday. I have now moved up to pureed foods. I now take a calcium suppliment too. But the best thing is that I have lost another 8 pounds and 2 whole pant sizes. I feel little to no pain at all. I am walking more. Up to a 1/2 mile a day and it is not hurting me much like it use to before WLS. Most imortantly I am feeling sooooooo much better. So far I have not lost any hair either. That I am thankful for because I didn't have alot to begin with. People have been asking me if I would do it all over again and I always answer "I most definatly would do it again in a heart beat!"

Well, it is 9/12/03 and I am doing wonderful I am down to 280 pounds and I have lost 11 inches off of my waist. I am so excited. Now I eat anything that I want to, I just don't eat that much. I never realized what and how much I use to put in my mouth. I am walking more and even walking and playing with my dog with out feeling like I am going to die. I have slacked off this week because I broke my toe. But just as soon as it stops hurting enough I am going to get back with it. I am just feeling so much better now and I am feeling better with every day that goes by.

I am still doing good. I put on a pair of my old jeans the other day and they fell staight down. Now that is a good feeling. Since I have broken my toe my back had been hurting really bad in one spot found out that I have a torn muscle in my back. But regardless I still exersize as much as possible. I am now down to 260 and I have lost 16 1/4 inches off of my waist. I have never been so happy in my life. It has been almost 3 months since my surgery and I have lost 75 pounds. YEA!

Well, its been almost a year now since my surgery. I am down to 196. I have not been under 200 since I was in middle school. I am really excited and I feel like a totaly new - different person. My confidence has been lifted to a whole new level and I am loving it. I try to exercise 3 times a week. I am in a size 14 now. And a total of 141 pounds are gone for good. I am literally half the person I use to be. And I am still losing weight but I hit some plateus once in a while. My husband is loving it too. We go out and do a lot more things than before(and i actually enjoy it and have the energy to)! As far as my menstral cycle goes, it has been totally faithful since my WLS. I'm still not pregnat but hope to be after 1 more year. I now eat what ever I want, still not much. And I have had no problems whatsoever. I am doing great, physically, emotionally, and mentally! Much better than before the WLS.

I have a kentucky medical card. It will pay for the weight loss surgery only if there are medical reasons to have it done. Its just finding a doctor who will accept it.
