Surgeon Info:
Surgeon: Randall Cook, M.D.
I have not had surgery yet, but am confident it will happen soon. Dr. Cook was personable and caring. He took great care in explaining the surgery options and the surgery itself.
I liked his honest and sincere approach. He laid it all out to me, the risks, the pain, the hospital stay, and of course my responsibilities.
He strongly emphasizes after care and has the support tools in place to provide that care whether the care is medical or emotional.
Dr. Cook seems a fine surgeon. I think I'll reserve an overall rating until after he's done cutting on me (hehe).
Well, he's done cutting on me, and I was right he is a fine surgeon(7-14-04). I did have a couple of external bleeders that were troublesome that kept me in the hospital a few extra days. I felt very little pain, except in my left shoulder after the surgery.
I had lap rny. I got out today(7-19-04)and already have noticed a general improvement to my overall health.
Insurer Info:
BC/BS
I didn't do a thing. I let Dr. Cook's office handle everything. I was thinking of calling Blue Cross when I received the call from Dr. Cook's office informing me that I had been approved.
I think they (BC/BS) do what they do. I am happy that I have been approved.
I didn't bug them or call they came through like I was lead to believe they would.
