Hello from the losing side!!For awhile I did'nt think I would make it back!Everyone wants to know how it is to be 50 and have this done well I will give my opinion.I was at the hospital at 10:30 last Thursday Morning and waited till 5:00 that nite to go down to the OR Room they had gotten behind that day.I did'nt get back to my room untill after 8:00.When they brought me back to my room I was having trouble breathing but that went away with in a day or two.It was harder than I thought it would be.I was pretty tired for the first few days and it seemed my blood pressure went up in the hospital so I had to have shots for that.If I did it again I would be using my breathing exersiser(SP)ALLTHE TIME Before surgery.I think that is the most important part.I have to force myself to get my H2O in and I hate crystal Light and popsicles!!Now I need someone to help me with the liquid Potassium that I cant choke down! The girl I talked to at BTC basiclly told me I HAD TO take it.No options there. It makes my gag reflex go into full swing.Well I would like to Thank everyone for their support and I will be on here everyday to see whats new.Gotto go rest now Thanks Everyone I love you all.

Hi everyone. I will let Ginger tell you about your experience but for those of you who wonder what the family goes through, I have an update. Dave and Dawn went with Ginger to surgery. I received a call from Dawn to let me know that Ginger had come out of surgery. Dawn was very frightened, Ginger had some difficulty breathing and post surgery, was very pale. This really scared Dawn. When I saw her on Saturday, she had been up and her color looked good but I could see that she was in tremendous pain despite the meds. Ginger never shows the extent of the pain she is in but when she fell asleep, her breathing "hitched" due to the pain. The pain had to be incredible to do that when you are asleep and on MORPHINE! She is now home, and although we try to bug her as much as possible, I think her inactivity and post-surgical healing is making her unhappy. It's hard to go through all that pain and not see the results yet. I KNOW she is tired of jello and Crystal Light! The most interesting person in the family has been Dave, my father in law. He is so frightened of the future. At first, he was so scared that something would happen to Ginger during surgery. Her difficulty breathing really made him upset but now that she is home, he grouses at her. I think that he really depends on Ginger's love and support and he is afraid of the brave new world Ginger is going to get to. MEN! You'd think he would be salivating at the thought! Anyway, back to work, I did tell Ginger to update her status, thank you to all that sent me e-mails at home requesting updates. I will forward them to Ginger once I have the chance. God Bless, Mindy

I want to be Ginger's guardian angel but am unsure how to proceed! I am Ginger's daughter in law and Ginger is very muched loved by our whole family. Ginger is the first one to offer any assistance and the one everyone goes to when they need support. Although our love will not change in any way with this surgery, I know how important this is to her. I see only the beauty of her spirit but I know that Ginger see her weight as an albatross so her surgery is being supported by the family. Ginger, hurry home and be well. We love you very very much. I hope you come through the surgery in good health and recover quickly. If there is anything you need, all you have to do is wisper. NOTE to Surgeons and NURSES : Better treat Ginger right or else!!!!
