At first I thought Dr. Rumsey didn't have a very good bedside manner. It must have just been a busy day for him. All my other encounters with him have been very warm and fuzzy. He is a wonderful Dr. and caring person. My experience with his office staff was all positive. They all seem very nice, friendly and helpful. I think Pacific Bariatrics has a great program. They have a seminar they hold each month so new patients can sit in and ask questions. There are always post-op patients there to tell their stories. I think they are very thorough in their presentation and the information they give. I have dealt with three of the Drs. in the PB office and all are wonderful.

Everything went very smooth for me with Kaiser. My Dr. was more than willing to recommend me, even though he had no experience with any other patients. I first went to see my Dr. in July and I was approved by January. I had to have several appointments and then my Dr. had to put all the results together and submit to the board. Once I got approved and referred to Pacific Bariatrics then it took another six months for my surgery date. PB also has to approve you since they are performing the actual surgery. They don't just take the word of Kaiser. If you are rejected Kaiser has a grievance policy that you can follow. I did this with my daugther and she finally got approved.
