~Jan. 20, 2004~ I met with Dr. Bour and He is so nice and informative. I came out of the appointment very happy and positive. I am pumped and ready. This will be the best thing I have ever done for myself. Heart test is next.
I am attending Pre-op support groups and enjoying what I am learning.
~April 19, 2004~ It has been two weeks since I got my surgery date--MAY 19!! I have been chatting and talking to a lot of people who have had the surgery. I am ready. I have been looking forward to this day since December.

~May 1, 2004~ I went to Mrytle Beach for the last time before my surgery. Hoping to go back in August or September. This coming week will be a busy one. I have my EGD on Wednesday and I see Dr. Bour, Nurtrition and Dr. Spearman all on Thursday. Starting to pack to move so we won't have a lot after my surgery.

~MAY 19, 2004~ I had my surgery May 19. The beginning of my new life! Surgery was fine but my blood levels downed and I had to get blood and go to ICU for a few days. Overall, it was great! Well I have not really been hungry and what I am allowed to eat has satisfied me. Dr. Bour is a wonderful doctor.
Today MAY 27, 2004, it was my follow up appointment. WOW! WOW! JUMPIMG UP AND DOWN! I have lost 24 pounds in 7 days!!! I can't believe it. Well, doctor and I set my goal a pound a day and by the end of August , I should be 200 pounds! 200 pounds! I thought I would never see 269. Today I am 269 pounds!

Since MAY 27, 2004, I have lost a lot of weight. I am down three pant sizes and I am in Just My Size 20-22. I don't have far to go until I hit 200. WOW!
Eating has been a challage. One day I eat one thing just fine, next day I try it again. NO WAY! Laugh! Meat is the hardest. Seems like steak I can digest better than anything in meats. I am having problems eating SLOW. Everyone says I look great. My family says my attitude and outlook is positive. I feel great as far as my health. My back pain has not been as bad. I can WALK. My fibromyalgia has not reappeared. I'm off my medicine for diabetes, pain and high blood pressure.
I continue to go to post-op meetings. Starting to meet some others in post-op and pre-op. Journaling is helping and I need to keep a food record.

~AUGUST 23, 2004~ My birthday is tomorrow. I went in to see Dr. Bour Thursday and he set my goal weight at 110 pounds! Huh! Huh! Will that be size 3-5?? I am going great! He said I was on track. I should be 170 pounds in 3 months. It is so exciting shopping now.
