12/14/03 - Well, I was to have surgery on the 12th. It didn't happen. Long story and I don't want to talk about it right now on here, but it's over with... the journey is over with WLS... I'll have to do it some other way. I wish those who have the surgery nothing but the best. Good luck to you all!

2/17/04 - I'm doing Weight Watchers now and just started exercising. I've lost 18 lbs. since Dec.

    Surgeon Info:
    Surgeon: Kevin Hoddinott, M.D.
I finally met the new doctor and "the one", Dr. Hoddinott. He is the doctor for me. I really liked him and felt at ease... it's hard to explain, but he seemed more "human" that most doctors and joked around a little bit too. I'm glad I was lead to him by chance. I was suprised at the stream of pre and post ops that went through the waiting room as I waited. He's really busy, but he took time to sit down and draw me a picture of the surgery and what he does.

My first doctor was Dr. Koren but things haven't worked out. ABOUT DR. KOREN: Dr. Koren answered all my questions and I felt comfortable with him.
    Insurer Info:
    Capital Blue Cross, PPO
I love Capital Blue Cross... they have been wonderful since I switched to them this past January... everything is covered that I have encountered so far!!! Unfortunatly, my doctor is "out of network" so I have to pay some out of pocket (80% of surgeon fee), but the hospital is covered 100%. I found out that Blue Cross is causing some problems with paying for the surgery (among other things) and I'm "on hold" for now in my surgery quest :( Update 11/17 - I switched doctors and they are going to submit the change request. There shouldn't be a problem with this. I can't wait!
