Hi I'm 24yrs old and I have 3 young children. I weigh 274 pounds and am 5'4". I am currantly waiting for an op date it should be in april 2004, Im having a LAP DS.

1ST APRIL 2004
Well I finally got an op date a few weeks ago and its for 12th may 04, I'm so excited but I'm also scared beyond belief its a very strange feeling to say the least. Also I've changed my mind about which op I want, At first I thought the RNY was for me but recently as I have done more research I have decided to go for a DS instead as I think it would siut my lifestyle more. 9TH MAY 2004
Here I am 3 days before my op and this week has been the worst week of my life. Firstly my mum died on thursday 6th may 2004 she was only 42 and I am devestated, also being the oldest I have to arrange everthing for the funeral and stuff I have no idea what I am doing I just feel so lost. Then on friday my oldest daughter whos 9 came down with chicken pox and her asthma started playing up. I was all set to cancell my op but my family said thats not what my mum would have wanted and I think they are right, So I am going ahead with it and we are having the funeral the week after. I just want the op over with now and to get on with the rest of my life, If anyone actually reads this i'm sorry for the depressing post but I needed to get it out. 10 AUGUST 2004
Well time for a little update I think. My op went well, there was a little bit of a problem with my stomach being to thick for the staple gun to get through but luckily I had a brilliant surgeon who was able to sew it up without having to revert to an open surgery. I was in hospital for 6 days mostly because I really liked it and wasnt keen to get home to my little hellions (just kiddin). I've not had any problems with my wounds they healed great, and since surgery I've only been sick 3 times and that was through eating to fast. So now for the great news, Since my surgery on 12th may I've lost 65 pounds and gone from a size 32 to a 22 Thats 5 whole sizes lost in 12 weeks I just can't belive it. I have sent a new picture to the team and it should be up soon. Well thats all for now. Luv Leanne

Well another udate I think. At the moment I'm doing really well no sickness and I'm eating well but I'm not getting in anywhere near enough protein which is not good so I've just ordered some protein bars from susan marias site, I really hope they are nice or at least edable.
I gave the addy of this site to my friends so incase they come having a look I just want to say a big HELLO to angie and michelle, you nosey buggers lol. :).
I've not weighed myself for 2 weeks so I don't know if I've lost anymore weight, But all my clothes are too big so I guess even if I havent lost pounds I've lost inches which is justa s good in my book. Anyway till next time I hope your all well and good luck to anyone who is about to have surgery I can tell you its the best decision I ever made.

Well what a lucky lot you are 2 updates in the same month LOL. I just had to say that I'm finally under 200 pounds woohoo, I'm 196 to be exact and I'm soooo happy, I honestly thought that I would be the first person that never lost any weight after this surgery but I was sooo wrong, I feel great and I've only got 66 pounds to goal.(My personal goal is 130 pounds). OMG I never thought I'd be saying that. Till next time take care.
