Did I mention it's JUNE and (shhhhhhhhhhh don't tell anyone) this week O'Dalys has submitted all my stuff to Cigna for approval? Shhhhhhhhh don't say it outloud. I don't want to think about it because then I'll have to start counting the days until scheduling. I like it better over here in la-la-land. I'll get excited AFTER the approval and my date is set.

Did I further mention how much I love my Billyboo? He's my blue-eyed butterbumble. He's my King of All Media-Smushyface and I love him forever and always.

Denied, and after a struggle, approved.

I will tell you that I am so thankful I have Bill. He pushed and pushed and made the calls and requested the documentation for our files, etc- he just asked me to PLEASE stay positive (which was so hard!) and just trust that it would happen soon. And it did.

So, Billy on the 12th and me on the 24th- YAY!! It's so exciting. I'm kinda looking forward to not having to COOK for a few weeks!! Magic Bullet and a lot of cups of broth and jello, here we come!

July 14th

To anyone reading this- when the pre-op process begins, it all goes very, very FAST. Bill's surgery went wonderful- 45 minutes in the OR and Dr. J came out to update me. I grabbed him and hugged him!! I was so thankful to him, respectful of his skills, awed by his talents, etc......... Think I'll begin to genuflect whenever I pass him from now on!!! Anyhoo- I do NOT recommend that you sleep in the hospital room with your loved one. Listen- if I learned ANYTHING new-( and I did- LOTS) it's that in order to TRULY take care of someone else, you NEED to take care of yourself first. I didn't eat or sleep much for a few days. It was stupid- unintentional and it cost me a big migraine that Imitrex couldn't even touch. The hospital staff of Ocala Regional are outstanding- zero complaints thru the entire process. I'm exhausted, so I'll add more later. Bill is home safe and doing so much better today. Will have to start a photo show of his progress.


July 24, 2006
My surgery went smooth. Zero complications and feeling fantastic. I got up and walked as soon as I could, and went home the very next day as I knew I would- a bit sore and ready for my own bed (and to get away from Joy-the evil night nurse).

Thank you Dr. Jawad- you are our hero!
