LORRAINE K. 22 years, 2 months ago

Dear Carmen~~~~Congratulations on your recovery and amazing progress. I agree with both Nancy and Kyla--you've lost about a pound a day!!!!!That is wonderful. Put the scale in a box and put it up. When I first had surgery, I couldn't weigh in at home because my scale didn't go over 330. I only weighed-in at the doc's office and I found myself interested more in how I felt and what I could do than in the numbers. Weighing in once a month is great. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers--keep your resolve strong. Be well. Lorraine

It sounds like you are doing just fine!!!! Everyone loses at a different rate. Your surgery was such a short time ago and look how much you have lost. Thats a lb a day. Just think how much you will lose when you can start to exercise more, I hope you are doing some now like walking. Your body is still in the healing mode and I know I retained a lot of fluid for the first month. Quit weighing yourself, it is self defeating. Wait at least another month before you do it again!! It will drive you nuts if you do it all the time. You are so young and you will be very successful.Keep us posted please!!!!!!!!!

Carmen, don't worry about how much you are losing. Everyone loses at a different rate. Your loss is excellent for one month! Be proud of yourself and celebrate your accomplishments! Best wishes for your continuing journey!

Hi Carmen! The full liquid diet allows you to have sugar free puddings, fruit juiced and creamed soups, too! I also added scrambled egg to my boullion soup to make egg drop soup, my doc didn't have a problem with it and it gave me added protein. You can also have cereals such as cream of wheat, cream of rice and malt-o-meal (which has greater protein) and yoghurts. I loved freezing the Yoplait express tubes and eating them like a popsicle for breakfast! Best wishes to you!
