I am a 35 year old 300+ woman in desperate need of WLS. I recently had a letter submitted to my insurance company by my doctor and
they said obesity is a pre-existing condition and I have to wait until my year is up to submit. I am a teacher and wanted to take care
of this problem this summer, but it looks as if I'll have to wait until next summer! I am very disappointed!

5/2/00 I found out today I was approved for surgery and am waiting for my consultation with my doctor!
I am so excited!!!!

6/4/00 My surgery date is set for July 11. I can't wait! I was hoping for a June date, but this will work!
I'll keep you "posted"!

7/3/00 My surgery is fast approaching and I'm a little nervous!
I have had all of the pre-op tests and now I go for my pre-surgery exam on 7/6/00.
I read all of the memorials on this site and that kind of depressed me, but
I like to research every possibility. Please keep me in your prayers!

7/22 Well, my surgery was 7/11 and all went well! I had the RNY, my gallbladder remover and
they found a softball and golfball size cyst on my ovary and removed the ovary and tube.
Today, I went back to the dr. to have my G-tube removed. I have already lost 26 pounds!!
Not bad for less than 2 weeks!

9/14/00 Well, I am 2 months post op and have lost about 55 pounds. I go back to the doctor on the 21st of Sept..
I am feeling much better. I felt weak for quite awhile.. I am finally glad that I had the surgery.. It is not for the
whimpy---it is quite a surgery (and I didn't have any major problems!!)

12/28/00 I am 5 1/2 months post op and have lost 94 pounds. I am so thrilled! I have a week to reach my New Year's goal of 100 lbs.
If I don't reach that one, I hope to be there by my 6 month anniversary. I feel great and look pretty good, too. The sagging is a little
unnerving, but it's better than FAT. Some people say I'm melting away, and I feel as if I'm "running down" my body! I really haven't exercised,
and that's my big goal for the New Year. I feel great and wish all of you the best in 2001!

3/16/01 I have now lost 115 lbs.! I am so excited! I feel great!

6/25/01 I have lost 132 lbs. Things are going slower, but things are still great!

7/16/02 It's been awhile since I have updated. The weight has come off much slower this past year. I have lost about 160 lbs. I am trying to get pictures posted. I feel so great and have had so much fun since my rebirth! I have gone to Six Flags and fit in the rides! Clothes are not torture anymore--I wear a size 14/16. That is so much better than a 30/32. I even had to get a part time job at JCPenney to help me buy clothes to teach in! Thank you to all of you who remembered me on my 2nd anniversary! Life is great!
