I am now post-op as of November 1, 1999. Dr. Baker performed my surgery at St. Vincent's in Little Rock, AR. I have lost 27 lbs!

My first impression of Dr. Baker was that he was very serious. My impression has not changed. His office staff and that of the Bariatric Clinic are very helpful. Future patients should know that he is an excellent surgeon who makes you think. Aftercare is strictly enforced. Dr. Baker made the risks very clear to me. He does not sugar-coat the risks. To me surgical competence is more important than bedside manner.

The Bariatric Center states that QualChoice does not pay for WLS. They have a written exclusion in the policy that states they won't pay even if the surgery is medically necessary.
