I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author) FROM MY HEART TO YOU~*~Hugs~*~

They told me that it would never happen and they were wrong! :-) This will start a whole new era in my WLS life.. lots of things to think about and take care of. If anyone has had a baby post op.. any hints and tips would be appreciated. I want to make sure to eat enough for us both! So far we are both doing great. No morning sickness, no nothing and I'm 3 months today! :-)

Hi! Valerie, I did as you suggested. I reserched, downloaded, read & reread. I have a binder full of info. I had a consult with my Dr. 2 days after I saw you. Had consult with surgeon about a month later on 6-6-03. He said if he did do the surgery he would only do a lapband as my top weight has only been 279lbs. when your only 5'tall thats alot if you ask me. But did say that a gastric bypass would stop my IBS.He was very impressed with how informed I was And his office wanted a copy of my binder of info that I took with me to hand out to patients. Haven't gotten confermation back telling me that he would take me on at all yet. But I also have my name on the list for a surgeon coming to Springfield from K.C. (he will start making apps. in July),for a second opinion. Of course my Foot ,Knee, and Back surgeons are all hoping I have the bypass. I go to have my knee surgery next Mon.the 30th of June. Next on list is to have surgery on the 8 hernieated disks and 16 spurs in my neck. A Gastric bypass as soon as possible! My BMI is 48.2 and I have all but a couple of the co-obesities. I thank you so much for the info on the surgery and your incouragement to do what I can to have it done. I am looking forward to having a new and improved life and body. You know I haven't even told my brother & your mom that I am tring to have it done yet. Louise Sciotto (Ky)

Hello All - Again, I've been lax in writing to update on my progress. I have nothing but good things to report. Life is still wonderful, I'm maintaining my weight and feel (and look) fabulous :-) I still go to the gym several times and week and play team sports again too. My hair has all grown back (no I didn't drink the protein like I should have!) Today is my 2 year anniversary so I have the day off and we are celebrating!!! I have had several people that I work with who have had this surgery and one of my best friends just had it on Friday (with Dr. Gorospe) and she is doing great too. She went home on Sunday!!! I was jealous of such a short hospital stay ha. I will try to update more often, but it's going to be the same old thing... LIFE IS WONDERFUL!!!

Ooops! I guess I forgot to put in that last post that the tummy tuck was a great success as well and the breast lift and arm lift! They took a piece of skin 30x18 off of my stomach.. I went from flabby the FLAT real quick! It didn't hurt, didn't have any problems, nothing but SMILES from this girl!! -Val

OK, here I am again months after my last post. I'm happy to share that I've lost 200 lbs and have had my breast lift and arm lift. All of my surgeries are complete and were amazing successes! My ins. battle is over and ..... I WON! They paid for the panni and the tummy tuck. That was a long hard battle for sure, but worth the 3x a week calls to the ins. to bother them ha! I have some great information to share about winning the battle, but it's far to long to post here. Feel free to email me and I'll forward it all to anyone. I think it should help with any ins. provider. I will be sending pictures to post soon! Thanks to everyone for all of the support. We all need it!! -Val
