ObesityHelp

4-14-03 Today I am 10 months out since surgery. I have lost 70 lbs and have gone from a size 24 to a size 12-14. I used to take 19 pills a day for my co-morbitities, I now take 4. My diabetes is in total control (as a matter of fact inow have low blood sugars) my blood pressure and cholestreol are both in control and I have no more reflux at all. Thei surgrey has saved my life and I am so grateful to the Lord for allowing me to do this. I still want to lose another 12 lbs for sure and maybe more but it has become quite slow now and I know I will have to fight toget the rest off. But this is a promise I make, I will never be morbidly obese again... Praise The Lord!


6-8-02 My surgery is next Friday and I am so excited. It's hard to believe it is really fixing to happen. I'm not scared at all just ready to start over and get this weight off. If you rad my profile please pray for me on the 14th!

5-18-02 I have my consult with Dr Kuhn next Thurs the 23rd and my surgery is scheduled for June 14th. The waiting was truly a nightmare but God was right there for me the entire time and now I am past all that and surgery will be here before I know it...

03-15-02 I went to the seminar last night and I am so excited about what is ahead. Both Dr's explained the procedures and the good and bad complications. I feel even more informed than before. I turned in my paperwork to Chris and hope to hear from him and the insurance company about an approval in 4-5 weeks... (April 11th). OR HOPEFULLY EVEN SOONER! I have such a good feeling about this and just know it will come about. My prayer is that the Lord is guiding me in all decisions. I do have a "Peace" and now if I can just keep from going nuts from THE WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

03-12-02 I am going to Dr Joseph Kuhn's seminar Thursday night
the 14th. (Dallas) I am so excited I can hardly sleep. I have a great letter from PCP for medical necessity and I have got prior medically supervised attempts at weight loss back up as well. By reading the letter from my PCP you would think the insurance (Cigna HMO)office would ok me immediatley... but I know nothing happens that fast in this process.. I am praying for the Lord to make this go smoothly and QUCIKLY... as I am afraid I will go nuts before I get to the OR... This is so exciting and I can already see myself being healthy and skinny... WOW what a picture! God is SO GOOD!!!

02-01-02 I am a 52 year old grandmother who has battled being overweight all my life. I am so excited about the thought of having surgery and making the changes that will last a life time. I have diabetes, high blood pressure and GERD. I have had back surgery twice and still live in pain most of the time. My husband and daughter (27) are both very supportive of me doing this and I have really prayed hard about it. I believe the Lord will open the doors if this is what I am supposed to do and close them if I'm not. I have a peace about it and I am so anxious to get started.
